- Time-saving meal prep - perfect for making in large batches, it can be kept at room temperature for a convenient snack or frozen for extended shelf life.

Ingredients
Please see recipe card below for exact quantities.
- Rolled oats - old-fashioned rolled oats work best for this recipe due to their ability to hold their shape during baking.
- Chopped walnuts - feel free to use any nuts you prefer.
- Chia and sunflower seeds - similarly, you can swap these out with your favorite seeds.
- Ground cinnamon - adds a dash of cozy, warm flavor.
- Honey - this sticky sweetener helps form big, chunky granola clusters that you can break into your desired size.
- Natural peanut butter - I recommend using natural peanut butter with a smooth, drippy consistency for easy mixing. You can also use seed butter if you prefer.
- Avocado oil - helps the ingredients crisp up while baking. You can substitute with olive oil or melted coconut oil if you prefer.
- Vanilla extract - adds a hint of delicious vanilla flavor.
- Dried cranberries - feel free to replace these with your preferred dried fruits.

Instructions

STEP 1: In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Give it a stir.

STEP 2: Add wet ingredients to bowl, then mix thoroughly until dry ingredients are well coated.

STEP 3: Pour mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread mixture onto sheet and press down to compress into a thin layer.

STEP 4: Pre-heat oven at 300°F/149°C, then bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Give it a quick stir halfway through baking to ensure even cooking.

STEP 5: Take it out when it's ready. Sprinkle mix-ins on top of granola, then let it cool down, untouched for 30-40 minutes.

STEP 6: When it's fully chilled, break the granola up into smaller clusters in whatever size you prefer. Store it away, and enjoy!

Storage
Homemade granola is fantastic for meal prep. You can store them away in an air-tight container (like a mason jar) for 1-2 weeks at room temperature, or in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months in the freezer.

Toasty's Tips
- Enjoy this as a tasty topping - Pair homemade granola with overnight oats, chia pudding, yogurt, or cereal.
- Enjoy this on its own as a delicious grab-and-go snack to munch on throughout the day!
- For the sticky sweetener, use maple syrup for a looser granola or honey if you prefer large, clumpy clusters.
- Feel free to swap out the nuts, seeds, and dried fruits with your favorites! It’s completely up to you.
- Instead of avocado oil, you can use olive oil or melted coconut oil if you prefer.

FAQ
I prefer big, clumpy granola clusters, but it's still coming out quite loose. What can I do?
If you’re struggling to get large, clumpy clusters in your granola, try incorporating 1 large egg white. Whisk it for 20-30 seconds before adding it to the mix. Egg whites are effective at binding the ingredients and creating those desirable clumps.
